Join us for a once in a lifetime vacation on our rescue horses that have been reschooled using love, language and leadership "naturally." None of our horses are ridden using bits and all enjoy life barefoot, they are sure footed and so much fun to ride. Trail ride through pristine rain forests, stunning safe mountain trails and endless beaches, this really is Pura Vida.

Day 1.

Relax in your air conditioned private transfer and take in the wonderful views as you descend from San Jose International airport to Playa Hermosa on the stunning Central Pacific Coast. Depending what time your flight comes in, we can go and meet the horses, or you can just relax in your beach side hammock.

Day 2.

Offer a horseman's handshake! We will match you with one of our herd to suit your personality and needs, take a Parelli play session (great for gaining confidence with horses or improving your natural horsemanship skills) in the morning and get to know your new equine partner for the week. Followed by a riverside “Typical Costa Rican” lunch. Get going in the afternoon with a rainforest trail ride to our secret waterfall. Let Julia and Andrea show you all the amazing flora and fauna along the way, you will arrive at a beautiful natural spring in the heart of the jungle, hopefully spotting the monkeys along the way. Here enjoy the natural volcanic spa mud that will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. This is so much fun!

Day 3

Start the day with a Parelli lesson (or you have the choice of any of the wonderful tours in the area which include surfing, yoga, zip lining, atvs, kayaking or the amazing crocodile tour) Enjoy a typical delicious meal before we head out on the old back roads to the village of Montilimar. Meet Johnny Quiros and his family at their beautiful butterfly gardens, whilst enjoying his hand pressed sugar cane, tour the village and see the old bull ring and church. Drop down into the unspolit river Turribalita and head back to the ranch. Spot lots of rare birds along the way

Day 4.

Anyone for a full day beach ride! Quite honestly, nothing compares to this. Deserted beaches, flocks of wild scarlett macaw parrots and endless palm trees. A once in a lifetime ride

Day 5.

Today you get the best of both worlds. Step off the tourist trail and follow the old ox trails, and head back into the old country! Visit tiny villages and enjoy the stunning ocean views surrounded by breath taking mountains and farm land. As we emerge from the mountains we head up the beach for a cold beer and one last gallop (galloping is optional) Don´t forget your camera for this one!

Day 6.

See how your horsemanship skills have soared during your week with us and enjoy a play session with the horses. The afternoon is given over to more trail riding or enjoying another action packed tour of your choice, some like to just relax in the hammock with a book.

Day 7.

A visit to the beautiful National Park of Manuel Antonio (without the horses). See an abundance of rainforest animals and spend time on probably the most beautiful beach in Costa Rica. This is the top location for spotting monkeys, sloths,and a whole abundance of other animals. Time permitting (i.e Can we drag you out of the park because you are having so much fun!!), we can get in a sunset trail ride.

Day 8.

Heading back to San Jose in your air con private transfer, get busy planing your next trip with us!

Depending on your departure time, enjoy one last play with your horse and one last wonderful local lunch. Spend your transfer back to the airport planning your vacation with us for next year!!!

Price for this package is $1560 per person.

All transfers to and from the airport and to the ranch each day, and a hearty local lunch are included (breakfast and evening meals are not included). Prices DO NOT include flights from your destination country or accommodation. We can give your great advice on lodgings to suit all budgets

Places are limited to 8 people for this package. Restricted to riders under 200lbs in weight. We recommend you that are used to riding up to 4 hours a day!
